Africa to create infectious disease centre

Health ministers and the African Union have backed this plan, to create a new centre in Cairo. Ethiopia is one of the countries on the technical committee which is drawing up detailed plans. The centre will focus on research into diseases endemic in Africa and will promote access to affordable medicines, according to the Science and Development Network.
