Listeriosis

In August this year, Canada apparently experienced the worst epidemic of listeriosis in the world, with 43 cases, and 16 deaths, caused by cold cuts of meat from a particular factory. There is an editorial about this in the most recent CMAJ, with a public health oriented primer. The editorial discusses some of the public health changes that might have aided the epidemic.
