What's new in midwifery - 15th June 2021

So much for helping you keep on top of recent research.    A bit of a gap (again), so have been a bit selective.

CQC inspection

The CQC conducted an unannounced inspection of the Jessop Wing, Sheffield's maternity hospital, following information received.   They gave the service an overall rating of Inadequate, making comments about staff skills and patient safety.   Read the CQC report at 


COVID

A systematic review looking at differences in presentation, management and prognosis of COVID in pregnant women and women who were not pregnant.

The incidence, characteristics and outcomes of pregnant women hospitalized with symptomatic and asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection in the UK from March to September 2020: A national cohort study using the UK Obstetric Surveillance System (UKOSS).


Stillbirth
