What's new in midwifery - 16th September 2021

Some recent things you may want to know about.   There may be other items on Twitter - I retweet using #whatsnewinmidwifery

First a Cochrane systematic review looking at the routine use of ultrasound for foetal assessment before 24 weeks gestation.

And an RCT looking at the usefulness of ultrasound to measure the lower uterine segment in women who have had a caesarean before, to determine who is at risk of uterine rupture,

In the news, Shrewsbury and Telford hospital admits liability for the death of a baby born stillborn after the concerns of the mother were not heeded,

And a discussion of support for postnatal depression, by a psychiatrist, in the Guardian.

Concerns from several charities and support organisations that mothers and pregnant women are worried about returning to work.
