COVID vaccines and pregnancy

UKHSA analysis of data about births finds vaccinated women no more likely to have a stillbirth or premature birth.   Reported in the Guardian/.   I think the data is probably the data reported in this news item from the UKHSA .

FullFact have investigated misleading claims made by some about miscarriage in vaccinated women.

A systematic review of safety, immunogenicity and effectiveness of COVID vaccines in pregnant and lactating individuals, and their babies, concludes the vaccines are safe and effective.


COVID in pregnancy

A systematic review of treatment of COVID-19 in pregnant women, published in the European Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Biology, looking at pharmacological and non pharmacological treatment.


Global health

UNFPA, WHO and ICM report on the state of the world's midwifery, with an article in Human Resources and Health (open access) summarising its findings and suggesting some policy responses.


Whole genome sequencing of babies

The Guardian reports scientists concerns over plans for a pilot to sequence the whole genome of 200000 newborns,  and the paper's science correspondent looks at the pros and cons.
