What's new in midwifery, 25th January 2023, part 1

Some reports you may want to know about, with some news stories about them or about other things.

First a report from the National Child Mortality Database, Sudden and unexpected deaths in infancy and childhood.

And then a news story on WHO report on effects of poverty in the UK on maternal and neonatal deaths.

The Institute of Health Visiting report on the impact of the COVID pandemic on babies, families and their support services (PDF)

The CQC maternity survey for 2012, with a BBC report, and a Guardian story (which also discusses a recent MBRRACE report).

The Guardian story on recent ONS figures on stillbirths in different ethnic groups.

A Guardian column by Nadiya Hussain on access to clean water during labour and birth, from a global health perspective.

Finally a BBC news story about what happened to a student at an English university (not mine) of England when they wanted to breastfeed their baby in a class.
