I had a questionnaire from Test and Trace about how I found the experience of reporting a positive test, and interestingly about knowledge of the rules and regulations. All anonymous, so if I wasn't right they won't be able to tell me. Or tell me off.
Yesterday I had two notifications from the COVID-19 app, one appreciative that I was self isolating, and the other telling me I had to or I would be in trouble.
The COVID-19 app has caught up with the change of guidance allowing early departure from self isolation after 2 negative LFTs on days 6 and 7. Today I had a notification from the app advising me of the change, and the app itself has an orange bar on it that says "Reminder of self-isolation changes", which links to that same information. The date it shows is still the 10 day period (as that notification tells me it would be).
The app also told me (and I don't think it has done this before) that I can anonymously notify others who were near me that they have been near someone who tested positive. This works by sharing random IDs with other phones that have exposure notifications switched on, sharing those random IDs from the last 14 days. I hope it doesn't spoil anyone's new year but I ought to do this, I think, so have tapped "share". Those closest to me have been told after I filled in the NHS Test and Trace form (and because I told them myself, of course), so maybe this random ID step will let the people know who were doing their last minute Christmas shopping in the same time and space as me.
